Hi, I am known as Jackie and am 60 years young. I am a wheelchair user as I was born with Cerebral Palsy. Despite this I have led a very full and eventful life. I have been married to Margaret (who also has a disability as she contracted polio at 10 months). We have two daughters, Kirsty and Laura and also two granddaughters, Brooke and Nieve (gender balance has never been an issue in our house - I wonder why).

My name is Maurin Macdonald, I live in a small crofting community just ouside the town of Fort William. I'm married to Colin who is also my carer and deserves a massive medal for putting up with me (before anyone else say's it). We have two children, both now married, living in the east of Scotland (where it's a lot drier than the Highlands). I am a Granny of five grandchildren, the oldest is 19 reading law at Glasgow, and the youngest is just 3 years old. Being a Granny is the best in the world and having grandchildren is such a blessing.

I am a semi- retired chartered architect living in the Highlands, where I have practiced all of my working life. I qualified in Aberdeen in 1965, and I am a corporate member of the Royal Instute of British Architects, and a Fellow of The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland. I have a Graduate Certificate in Inclusive Access and Design from Heriot Watt, and I hold Advanced Accreditation in Conservation.

I am a long time member of the Inverness Access Panel, for whom I act as Technical advisor.

Hi my name is Patrick McGuigan, I am 62 years old, I have sight problems, walk with crutches and was also a wheelchair user. As I was born with Cerebral Palsy I have been involved with many organisations over the years: Strathclyde Forum on Disability, Castlemilk Forum on Disability, RNIB, NFB, SDEF, SATA and SRAF.

I have been an office-bearer of Dumfries & Galloway Disability Action Panel since its formation and I have been working both with and for disabled people for over 20 years. I am a member of the SNAP (Scottish National Action Plan) Health and Social Care Action Group and the SNAP Adequate Standard of Living Reference Group.

Hello I am Sheila Fletcher of Evanton in Easter Ross. I am 61 years old I am married to Stan who has put up with me for 41 years. We have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. I have worked in public and community transport for over 20 years. In my spare time I volunteer for Ross-shire Voluntary Action and Creich, Croik and Kincardine Day Care Centre. As two of my daughters have mobility problems I am very concerned about creating and maintaining services that are accessible to all. I am actively involved with both Ross-shire and Inverness Access Panels.
