Your local Youth Access Project is looking for young volunteers (16-21) to work with its Access Panel to help build their online presence (or maybe ‘build a website and social media’) It will take place over 4 weeks, one evening per week, and each person be awarded a certificate for their involvement as well as learning some cool skills!
What is an Access Panel?
An Access Panel is a group of volunteers who are either disabled themselves, or are affected by disability and are working to improve access to buildings, health and social activity amongst many other things, in their local communities.
Why does our local Access Panel need a website?
By having an online presence, members will be able to reach out to members of their community, and provide a virtual ‘one-stop-shop’ for those who are seeking help or support in disability related fields.
What will I learn?
You will be part of a 4 week programme, in which you will learn how to
- Buy a domain name (www.youraccesspanel.com) and set up a basic website
- Create wording and source images for the website
- Connect with social media
What’s in it for YOU?
Students
- learn a new skill
- meet new people
- make a difference in your community!
- add your involvement to your CV
