Scottish Disability Equality Forum Scottish and Borders Social Enterprise Chamber (SBSEC) have been working in partnership on a project to increase the awareness of the benefits of employing a disabled person, along with increasing employment prospects of disabled people in the Scottish Borders. This project will be delivered in three phases:
- Breaking Barriers – Disability in Employment: An awareness raising document which will include case studies of employees and employers, telling their story
- The Life Cycle: A project to employ a disabled person(s), record the journey for the employer and employee, articulate the lessons learnt and provide recommendation
- What’s in it for me?: An evidence based document which will articulate the benefits of employing a disabled person.
An event celebrating the publication of our first document, Breaking Barriers – Disability in Employment., was held on 3 December in St Boswells.
We also seek organisations to participate in phase 2 of our project. If your organisation would like to become part of this exciting project, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
