Join SDEF Click here for a membership application form The Scottish Disability Equality Forum is a membership
organisation open to all disability organisations, or any individual with any
type of impairment. Every person,
organisation and network has an important role to play in ensuring the voices of
disabled people are heard in the new Scotland.
The Forum seeks to enable this.
The Forum seeks, through its membership, to highlight
the importance of active and empowered participation by disabled people in the
organisations which seek to represent them.
It actively encourages each member organisation to ensure that disabled
people form a majority within its management structure and that no barriers
exist towards full participation by disabled people in the management of the
organisation.
Membership
of the Forum
Full membership of the Forum is open to any voluntary organisation of or for disabled people with a Scottish base which has achieved, or is working towards, majority representation of disabled people within its management structure and supports the objects of the Forum. Member organisations are entitled to send a single representative to Forum meetings, to nominate a representative for election to the Management Committee, and each have one vote, which can be given personally at meetings of the Forum, by proxy or by postal vote. Associate membership is open to any individual or private, public or voluntary organisation based in Scotland who supports the objects of the Forum. Associate members shall be entitled to attend Forum meetings, but are not entitled to a vote. Click
here for an application form for full or associate membership.
