The UK Government's legislative programme for the coming parliamentary session contains provisions for a new Equalities Bill. This follows on from the Discrimination Law Review consultation that took place over the summer of 2007 and aims to roll up the different equalities legislation into a single Bill. The UK Government's response to this is expected shortly. The Bill aims to: make Britain a fairer place where people have the opportunity to succeed whatever their race, gender, disability,age, sexual orientation, religion or belief. The main elements of the Bill are:
