 08/07/08 - Directory of Opportunities for Disabled People in Fife

<back>

The 2008 edition of Fife Employability Network's Directory of Opportunities for Disabled People in Fife is now available so don't miss out on this essential pocket guide.  It's a handy pocket sized booklet that gives brief details and contacts for well over 100 agencies in Fife that people with disabilities might find helpful if they're looking for information on getting back to work, getting involved in learning, volunteering or getting in touch with other people to help them build up confidence.

"There's a lot of support, advice and information available in Fife for people with disabilities," said Fife Employability Network's Development Co-ordinator, Sandra Wilson. "But people sometimes don't know where to start.  Our directory tries to guide people with disabilities through the process of getting back to work or learning and to give them information on where they can find out more.  It's also a handy booklet for people working with people with disabilities - and for local businesses who want to enjoy the economic benefits of a diverse workforce.  The other good thing is that it's free and can be picked up in Opportunity Centres, Jobcentres and other local venues, or by phoning 01592 583378."

Fife Employability Network is a partnership of statutory and voluntary agencies in Fife working with and for people with disabilities.  The network aims to raise awareness of the skills people with disabilities can bring to the workplace to make it easier for them to find and keep jobs or take part in learning.

"FenLink, our information and signposting service, puts you in touch with the person or agency who can best help you," Sandra continued. "It's a good starting point for people with disabilities, people who work with them, businesses and family and friends.  We might also be able to help with Kit for Work, our assistive technology loan scheme to help people with disabilities start or stay in work."

So, don't miss out on your copy of the 2008 Fife Employability Network Directory.  Pick one up free of charge from your local Opportunity Centre or Jobcentre, or contact Fife Employability Network at FenLink on 01592 583378 or email [email protected].  You can also get the directory by visiting www.fifedirect.org.uk/fenlink.
