An article from bbc news has reported that Mr Malcolm Griffiths, a false limbs expert who worked at Edinburgh's Astley Ainslie Hospital allegedly fitted a left prosthetic foot to a man's right leg.  

It is alleged Mr Griffiths failed to spot his error at two later check-ups.

Mr Griffiths, an expert in prosthetic limbs, is due to appear before the conduct and competence committee of the Health Professions Council at a hearing in Edinburgh, where he could be struck off.

These include fitting a lower limb with the wrong foot and and failing to provide adequate prosthetic care, which meant the socket required remaking.
