The research utilised a variety of research methods
including questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, and
engaged with organisations and individuals throughout
Scotland. Findings indicate that although disabled people
volunteer, both individuals and organisations feel that they
are under-represented in volunteering and that the Internet,
a commonly used recruitment method for volunteers, is still
not as accessible as it could be for disabled people.
The project was funded by Clydesdale Bank and the launch
timed to coincide with 'accessible volunteering' month in
the Year of the Volunteer.
