Scottish Building Regulations

The Scottish Building Standards Agency has been re-integrated into the Scottish Government and has become part of a new directorate for the Built Environment which includes Planning and Architectural Policy.

The Scottish Building Standards (SBS) is responsible for writing the Scottish building regulations.

Technical Handbooks 2008 – On 1 May 2007, a revised edition of the Technical Handbooks introduced significant revisions within sections 0, 1, 3, 4 and 6. The 2007 edition is now updated with corrections to sections 1, 2, 3, and 6. Other than corrections, there are no changes or additions to the 2007 standards and guidance within the 2008 edition.
