Office Design Guide

The British Council for Offices (BCO) and the JMU Access Partnership, have published a design guide aimed at managers, human resources staff and employees, as well as architects, designers and planners, entitled The Accessible Office: designing the inclusive workplace.

With an emphasis on inclusive design, this technical document aims to cover all aspects of planning and design, from statutory requirements (including the Disability Discrimination Act, planning regulations and health and safety legislation) and Building Regulations, to best practice guidance on lighting and signage.  The design guidance is supported by over 50 diagrams and illustrations.
