What is Stirling Area Access Panel? 

The panel was re-established in May 2007 by a group of volunteers with an interest in access issues to effect change and improvement to the quality of life for 'all'.

 Mission Statement - To promote self empowerment and enable access for all in order to realise full potential in all aspects of life.

 The Panel has 6 main priorities for 2008:

 1. Establish a Web site

  • What’s already available
  • SDEF website (few pages)
  • Funding
  • Formation of sub group

2. Identify skills and training needs

  • Develop questionnaire
  • Compile results
  • Meeting to discuss results
  • Identify Gaps
  • Identify Advisors

 3.      Communication

  • Proactive canvassing
  • Leaflet
  • Internal Communication
  • Look at available funding

 4.      Identify projects

  • Visit Falkirk Sensory Centre
  • Green Mapping
  • Funding
  • Secret Shopper
  • Day in a wheelchair

 5.      Point of contact

  • Maintain Admin base
  • Maximise Council and Disability

6.      Partnership Formation

  • CVS, Council and Disability, Access Panel
